Steel Cut Oatmeal with Fruit & Nuts

Ingredients
- 1 cup steel cut oats
- 3 cups boiling water
- 1 cup low fat milk
- 1/4 teaspoon pure almond extract
- 2 tablespoons dried cranberries
- 2 tablespoons golden raisins
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon slivered almonds
- 1/4 cup low fat milk
Directions
Step 1. | Place oats in a large saucepan. Add the boiling water, stir and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring once. |
Step 2. | Add next 7 ingredients to the oatmeal (milk through slivered almonds). Stir gently to combine and cook for 10 minutes longer. |
Step 3. | Spoon into bowls and divide remaining milk on top of each serving. |
